Keith Olbermann Out Again

Poor guy. I do know one person that will be sad to hear this.

Hey folks,

Remember back in the day when Keith Olbermann worked for MSNBC? No? No one else really does either. Rumour has it Olbermann is nothing more than a Prima Donna. He is all about him and everyone else, including those that he collects a Pay Check from, are nothing but little Annoyances that he needs to deal with from time to time. Got him Fired from MSNBC.

Then Al Gore's Current TV picked him up. Al's dream, like all Liberals out there, is to have a Network as successful as Fox News. They are ALWAYS looking for the Liberal version of Rush Limbaugh. Who wouldn't like to have 22 PLUS MILLION Listeners at any given Segment?

Apparently, Keith Olbermann may ACTUALLY be TOO Liberal for the Libs? Perhaps he is a PURE Progressive, out there for all to see, and they still can't show who they are fully? Or perhaps his Ego clashed too many times with Al Gore or Joel Hyatt's Ego? Who knows? Who really cares? Well, to be fair, I know one person that will be sad to hear this. But one, a Network does not make.

Here is the official Press Release by Al Gore, Joel Hyatt, and Current TV:

We created Current to give voice to those Americans who refuse to rely on corporate-controlled media and are seeking an authentic progressive outlet. We are more committed to those goals today than ever before.

Current was also founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.

We are moving ahead by honoring Current's values. Current has a fundamental obligation to deliver news programming with a progressive perspective that our viewers can count on being available daily -- especially now, during the presidential election campaign. Current exists because our audience desires the kind of perspective, insight and commentary that is not easily found elsewhere in this time of big media consolidation.

As we move toward this summer's political conventions and the general election in the fall, Current is making significant new additions to our broadcasts. We have just debuted six hours of new programming each weekday with Bill Press ("Full Court Press, at 6 am ET/3 am PT) and Stephanie Miller ("Talking Liberally," at 9 am ET/6 pm PT).

We're very excited to announce that beginning tonight, former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer will host "Viewpoint with Eliot Spitzer," at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Eliot is a veteran public servant and an astute observer of the issues of the day. He has important opinions and insights and he relishes the kind of constructive discourse that our viewers will appreciate this election year. We are confident that our viewers will be able to count on Governor Spitzer to deliver critical information on a daily basis.

All of these additions to Current's lineup are aimed at achieving one simple goal -- the goal that has always been central to Current's mission: To tell stories no one else will tell, to speak truth to power, and to influence the conversation of democracy on behalf of those whose voice is too seldom heard. We, and everyone at Current, want to thank our viewers for their continued steadfast support.
{Laughing} I LOVE this. Looks fully look at this for a second.

Anytime you hear "Progressive" all you need to think about is this Far Left Kook Fringe. They actually think there is a Market out there. There isn't. Can you tell me what channel it is on your TV. Maybe next to Oprah's OWN? I have no idea. The funny thing about this is that the ONLY way it is even on is because it is FUNDED by Liberal Individuals and Corporations. {Laughing} Like NPR, the NYT. These things would be LONG gone if it were not for Private Funding.

What Viewers?

Does Current just pick up people that other Networks throw away? Seriously? Eliot Spitzer? THAT is going to be a Home Run? Do they see him as a big "get." Seriously? No one watched him on CNN. They are going to now take the time to FIND Current and watch him there?

All of these additions to Current's lineup are aimed at achieving one simple goal -- the goal that has always been central to Current's mission: To tell stories no one else will tell, to speak truth to power, and to influence the conversation of democracy on behalf of those whose voice is too seldom heard. Speak Truth to Power? Unless you are talking about Obama and Crew, then you, like ALL the Liberal Media out there, simply report whatever Obama and Crew TELL you to. You ATTACK whomever you may see as a threat. You show your Ignorance through your Arrogance DAILY. You are completely clueless to what America is made up of. It AIN'T Liberal Kooks.

You know, it really is simple to understand. To be successful in Media, be it TV, Radio, or New, you MUST connect with your Audience. You must be in touch with who they are and what they want. You have to have TALENT. Not just some person that get on and rants about this or that for no apparent reason, while giving outdated and proven false again and again, talking points that amount to NOTHING. Well, that IS the Extreme Kook Fringe Left. Affectionately known here as the LWL {Left Wing Looneys} But the problem is, there simply is not enough of them out there to support a Network or anything else. Ask those that continue to attempt to get Rush off the air.

We here at the OPNTalk Blog want to take this opportunity to wish Keith Olbermann well in his future enderv,,,WAIT. Yeah. Oprah did just fire Rosie. Maybe? Hey, you never know. Be it at another Network that no one watches, or whatever, may you have much success in the future. Or at least, uh, some. Sorry for your loss B.B.
Peter
